Bare Metal Restore (BMR) gives you the ability to restore to a virtual server or dissimilar hardware configuration for ease of recovery after a disaster; e.g. hardware failure. That’s why the Managed Solution BDR is equipped to do a bare metal restore to any available hardware configuration, giving you more options in times of crisis.
